Painting ‘The Lost Sheep’
Materials: acrylic paint on canvas | Techniques: layering, brushwork, hand-painting | Size: 100x100x4 cm
This is the lost sheep.
It is not a bad one, but lost. It is not a good one, but lost. It’s not a different one, but lost. And curious. This sheep is a dreamer. It sees beautiful berries and wonders how they smell. It checks the vibrations of the colours and shapes. And sizes. Uniqueness… It wonders where they came from—how this fruit grew here and how this food appeared here… the sheep is in awe of the creation because it did not know the Creator yet.
Berries look so delicious and sweet. Even sweeter than the sugar cloud above them. And hours passed by. And months passed by, and years passed by... But the sheep felt uncertain: the sheep couldn’t choose the right berry to try because it lacked experience. Or courage. It was afraid to take action and finally taste the beauty of God's creation. It didn’t understand that these berries were created for it… with love and out of pure love…
Suddenly, the sheep saw the light coming down from heaven. The light was so powerful and pure that it made the sheep forget all its worries instantly. And the sheep heard the voice saying:
“Come to me.”
“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep.” (John 10:11 NKJV)
And the sheep began following the light because the voice spoke straight from that light. On the way out, the sheep jumped under the water and became a child of God. And now the sheep is safe. Protected. Cherished. Seen. And most importantly: loved unconditionally.
Once it was lost, and now it is found.
