End Times Survival: Farmers We Will Be!

A Wake-Up Call for the Days Ahead

11 He who tills his land will be satisfied with bread,
But he who follows frivolity is devoid of understanding. Proverbs 12:11

That time I was alone at home in the middle of my sweet dreams (year 2023, summer). Then a sharp noise woke me up. It stopped almost instantly, but I knew it wasn’t random, it was meant to bring me back to awareness.

I could instantly feel that something important was happening. It was a feeling of urgency.

Goosebumps rushed across my body, rising in strength with every second. I felt charged with adrenaline! It wasn’t scary, but it was awakening.

Somehow, I knew I was meant to receive a message. I felt compelled to write it down. I knew it was important, connected to my work. I had been praying for it, fasting for weeks. My faith was waiting for an answer.

Reaching for my notebook and pencil, I sensed the questions taking shape in my mind:

  1. Have you ever thought about what will happen when the Day comes?

  2. What would you do if there were no food supply chains in the world anymore?

  3. Do you know how to grow food for yourself or your family?

  4. Do you know how to start crops? Do you know how to take care of them?

  5. Do you know how to survive? Do your friends know?

And that was it.

A wow moment came. I felt amazed. I encountered the greatness of God.

A new awareness filled my thoughts.

What is it that just happened?! I can’t ignore this. He told us to get ready… What should I do now? How can I tell everyone? Apocalyptic times are surely coming, and we will all have to face them! He revealed it! It was a red flag. It was a warning. He told us to learn how to survive and to prepare ourselves for famine!

I have to do something, I thought.

Situation Overview

Receiving the message was a great shock to me on many levels. For the first time in my life, I heard God speak so clearly… And moreover, I don’t know how to grow food, I don’t know how to survive, I don’t know what to do if things get extreme! And I don’t know when the Day comes either…

I set to work. I started researching.

I began exploring potential extreme emergencies and the events that could threaten our well-being.

A global food shortage is approaching and it signals that something serious is on the way. To break the world’s food supply chains would likely take some extreme, large-scale crises. The global food supply chains could collapse entirely only if production, resources, logistics, finance, and social stability all failed at the same time.

Here are some major risks:

  • Global conflicts or large-scale wars, especially nuclear war, could devastate economies, damage critical infrastructure, paralyse logistics systems, and disrupt social stability.

  • Catastrophic environmental events, such as extreme climate shifts, large-scale volcanic eruptions, or meteor impacts, could severely damage agriculture and reduce the availability of usable land.

  • Extremely deadly pandemics and widespread diseases could wipe out large populations and destabilise societies.

  • Technological crises, such as failures in financial or trade systems, large-scale cyberattacks, or AI disasters, could severely disrupt stability of everyday life.

  • Energy crises, drastic shortages of vital resources such as oil, coal, natural gas, and water, could disrupt power generation and industrial production, threatening the very foundations of societal comfort, stability, and security.

Any of these scenarios may seem radical, but they’re absolutely possible. Today’s reality feels increasingly unpredictable.

Today is the time to understand the season we are in.

Now is not the time to turn away from God. It’s time to see Jesus clearly and turn to Him. Jesus is the only way to endure.

Once the global food supply chains are broken, chaos and uncertainty will spread quickly. We must truly turn to God before these tribulations affect us personally.

Only God knows what exactly will happen and when, but I believe it is connected to Jesus’ second coming.

Famine: A Biblical Sign of the End Times

Hunger and famine are common themes in the Bible, often seen as God’s punishment for unbelief and sinful living.

Also, the Bible speaks very clearly about famine in the end times, presenting it as a sign of Christ’s return and as part of God’s judgment during the tribulation times. It is specifically mentioned in Matthew 24 and Luke 21.

Here are a few verses for reflection:

7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows. Matthew 24:7-8

+

10 Then He said to them, “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. 11 And there will be great earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences; and there will be fearful sights and great signs from heaven. Luke 21:10-11

Famine is a real event, foretold by Jesus and recorded in the Bible, and we cannot turn a blind eye to this truth. If Jesus warns that these events are coming, we should not ignore them.

Now is the time to act. We must ready ourselves and consider the times that are coming.

Preparation

Preparation means changing the way we live, thinking ahead, and taking actions that could protect us and our families.

Preparation means praying to God for the wisdom and understanding to be ready for times of famine or destruction. Building our spiritual strength must be our highest priority. When we seek God, He directs our steps. He is present for those who call on Him, providing guidance and strength to face every challenge.

Noah spent years preparing. He stayed close to God, and God protected him from destruction. A very similar situation happened with Lot. He was saved because he was a godly man.

The Bible assures us that God faithfully provides for His people, even during famine: God provided daily manna for the Israelites in the desert. Jesus fed 5,000 people with a few loaves and fishes. God gave Joseph wisdom to prepare for seven years of famine! And many more! God is our Savior in every time and circumstance. In times of shortage and trouble, God is with us!

18 Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him,
On those who hope in His mercy,
19 To deliver their soul from death,
And to keep them alive in famine. Psalm 33:18-19

By putting Jesus first, we can trust Him to take care of everything else.

God is good,

1 His mercy endures forever. Psalm 118

Grocery Stores in the Near Future

Here’s another key factor that could lead us toward a future in farming. Just imagine:

Entering a grocery store is impossible for you. Access is granted only to those who can be scanned to enter, purchase, and exit.

Similar to how face recognition systems are widely used, a technology in your hand or forehead will become mandatory. Anyone without it will be unable to buy or sell.

You, as a follower of Jesus Christ, will have no access to these stores because you refuse to take the chip. Receiving the chip is forbidden to you, and this is not something I made up. It is written in the Bible!

This is what the book of Revelation says about the beast from the Earth:

16 He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, 17 and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Revelation 13:16–17

If the mark mentioned in Revelation 13:16 is not a chip, then what is it?

Something very similar is already happening in China today, since 2024. They don’t use chips but advanced biometric technology to scan the surface of the palm and the unique vein patterns beneath it. By holding a hand over the sensor, the system instantly recognises the user’s identity and authorises payment, without any physical contact.

I’m not saying it perfectly matches the description in Revelation, but the beast is already at work! Everything has been moving toward digitalisation for years. First credit cards and online payments, then the new norm of not carrying cash, with all bills and taxes handled online. Now, digital IDs.

We are literally witnessing the beginnings of what Revelation foretold! We are heading directly toward the scenario described: “no one may buy or sell except the one who has the mark or the name of the beast.”

Revelation 14

If anyone is still questioning why the mark is forbidden for followers of Christ, the Bible provides the answer in Revelation 14:9–11:

9 Then a third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand, 10 he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. 11 And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name.”

We can’t turn away from the truth that those who take the mark will face the wrath of God, disgrace, shame, and horrible torment. Forever! and ever! Can you even imagine that?!

The Bible gives us all the instructions to follow, and our duty is to live according to God’s Word in obedience. The main point of it all is to choose God’s path. God’s path leads to Jesus. We must wait for Him patiently and obey His Word.

Through Jesus, our sins were forgiven. Jesus promised us eternal life! He is everything to us. We live for Him, we are born for Him, and we serve Him.

Please, do not receive the mark. Refuse it. Reject the chip. Follow Jesus Christ and you will be saved.

How to Survive

Survival during a famine or crisis depends on careful preparation. Preparation takes time, patience, and knowledge.

Preparation for survival is absolutely necessary, and there’s no reason to delay. It’s time to gather seeds and bring to mind all the lessons from our grandparents’ gardens.

Those who plan and act wisely will be ready and survive, while those who ignore preparedness may face severe consequences.

In the meantime, we need to understand that survival can be challenging. We’ll need to grow our own food and secure essential resources.

A farm lifestyle is full of physical activity, effort, and care. For someone from an urban background, it can be a tough adjustment. The sooner we begin, the better prepared we’ll become.

It’s wise to choose the right location and neighbourhood carefully. Crowded cities will be the earliest to face famine and social chaos. In contrast, a countryside community sharing local resources can make all the difference.

Since a steady water source is vital for farming and daily needs, choosing a countryside location near wells, rivers, or lakes is very important.

To grow our own food, we’ll need soil, fertiliser, seeds, sunlight, and water.

Composting, along with keeping animals, naturally supplies fertiliser for the garden.

Keeping animals such as chickens, ducks, or geese can be a great source of eggs and meat, as long as we understand how to care for them properly.

Likewise, goats, sheep, and cows can provide additional food supplies such as milk and cheese + meat also. Still, it’s good to know a nearby veterinarian or animal expert who can assist if animals ever need care.

Careful planning of food amounts is necessary. In seasonal regions, summer harvests must be sufficient to sustain the family through the entire winter until the next season.

It’s good to have storage and to know how to preserve food.

In apocalyptic scenarios, electricity problems could become normal, so it’s wise to stock up on candles and firewood.

We should also think about safety measures: a tall fence, archery skills, and a well-trained guard dog can help protect our homes from intruders.

29 “The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. 30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ 31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” Mark 12:29-31

Dear friends,

The LORD has given us this warning, and we are called to examine our lives and choices. We must prepare ourselves and our loved ones for the challenging events to come. Let’s take time to reflect on this message and consider our situation with peace and love. Let’s prepare, but do it wisely:

First and foremost, we must ask Jesus for wisdom. We must not forget that spiritual life comes before the physical. We need to stay committed and faithful. The Lord is the source of all things. Jesus watches over His people, so do not be afraid, but trust in Him.

Nevertheless, let’s learn to survive, put it into practice, teach others, and share our knowledge. In times of survival, having wisdom can be a crucial defense. Now is the time to understand that during catastrophic events, our reliance on one another will be crucial. It’s time to cultivate communities and acknowledge that we all depend on each other.

Let’s trust the Lord, and do good. Let’s care for one another, love one another. “Love your neighbour as yourself.”

8 Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. 1 Corinthians 13:8

And,

May our Lord protect us from every danger and destruction, and guide us in safety, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
